How to write ad copy that converts

  • Write variants by angle, not by synonym

Five headlines that say the same thing in different words teach you nothing. Test different reasons to click: pain, outcome, proof, offer and audience.

  • Respect the limits before you're in the ad editor

Google headlines truncate at 30 characters, and Meta primary text gets cut after a line or two on mobile. Write to fit, instead of trimming the best line later.

  • Match the landing page

The ad's promise should be the first thing people see after they click. A mismatch hurts conversion and, on Google, quality score.

  • Specific beats clever

“Taxes done in one click” outperforms wordplay nobody gets in the second they spend scrolling past.

  • Call out the audience

“For freelancers” in a headline filters out the wrong clicks before you pay for them.

  • Only claim what's true

“#1”, “best” and “guaranteed” can get ads rejected. Use proof you can back up.

The snippet

This is the exact prompt the tool above runs. Save it as a snippet in Snippetbar and it works on any text you select.

You are a performance marketer. Write ad copy for {platform: Google Search | Meta | LinkedIn} from the input below.

Rules:
- Use only facts from the input. No invented stats, awards, discounts, or superlatives ("#1", "best", "guaranteed").
- Write 4 variants, each testing a different angle: Pain, Outcome, Proof/Specific, Offer (or Audience if no offer).
- Respect limits: Google headline ≤30 chars, description ≤90. Meta primary text ≤125 chars, headline ≤40. LinkedIn intro ≤150 chars, headline ≤70.
- Plain, concrete language. No exclamation marks, no emoji unless the input uses them.

Return a table: Angle | Headline | Body | Character counts.

Use it where you work

  • On your landing page

Select the hero section in Webflow or Framer, copy it and get ads that match the page's promise.

  • In Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager

Paste the variants straight into the ad editor. They're already sized to fit.

  • In a campaign doc

Generate angles in Notion before you build anything and pick the 2–3 worth testing.
